Aluminum Bright Dip and Etch - Rack & Bulk |
|
|
Features:
Appearance varies by series of aluminum. The process involves uniformly removing some of the aluminum surface using chemical solutions. There are several reasons for etching aluminum:
- To impart a matte finish to the material (lower the gloss).
- To remove surface
contaminates.
- To hide surface imperfections (scratches, die lines, etc.)
- To provide an overall uniform finish.
- Controlled chemical modification of the smooth reflective aluminum
surface inherent on extruded shapes or sheet products can enhance the eye
appeal of aluminum products by etching in an acid or caustic chemical bath.
- Masking can be used to provide protection for the reflective
surfaces that are desired to remain bright while adjacent surfaces are given
a contrasting satin appearance.
