Pickling:
The Pickle and Oil
process uses an acidic solution to remove metallic
oxides from the metal surface, followed by immersion
into a rust inhibiting oil preservative to prevent
or retard further corrosion. Some steels containing a
very high polish or micro-polish may show a reduction
in gloss as a result of the pickle and oil process.
Rust can also significantly reduce the gloss or
micro-finish on steel parts. |
